GMC ALERT TO BOTOX TREATMENTS IN SALONS
General Medical Council
New regulations issued by the General Medical Council, the Medical Professions governing body, regarding the prescribing of Botulinum toxin injections came into force on 23rd July 2012. Clients will no longer be able to receive treatments at a salon or clinic without first seeing a Doctor for a face to face consultation, after which a prescription can be issued. This has also been endorsed by the Royal College of Nursing and The Nurses and Midwives Council.
This will improve the care offered as the Doctor will be able to take a full medical history, understanding allergies, past illness and medications being taken. As well as the reasons and expectations of having treatment.
This is already how we provide this service at Pebble Sanctuary so you have no cause for concern.
